Types of Membership
<Types of Membership>
The membership of TGE falls into three categories: Broker Membership, Trade Membership and Affiliate Membership.

Broker Membership A Broker Member has direct access to the commodity market of which it has membership and is allowed to trade directly for its own account as well as solicit, accept and execute customer orders. It can also carry orders placed by a futures commission merchant (Intermediary), i.e. a licensed commodity futures broker who not a Broker Member of TGE, and execute orders on behalf of Intermediary.

Trade Membership A Trade Member has direct access to the commodity market of which it has membership and is allowed to trade directly for its own account. It can also open an account with a Broker Member and have the Broker Member execute orders on its behalf.

Affiliate Membership An Affiliate Membership has no direct access to the commodity market but participates the market by opening an own account with a Broker Member and has the Broker Member carry order on its behalf.

Direct Access Broker Members and Trade Members can access the markets directly from their offices. Affiliate Members must go through a Broker Member.

Position Limits Broker members have a larger position limit and also if approved by the Exchange will be able to receive hedge exemptions.
